Now back to the above ground installation.  If your tank is currently in-ground and it has failed you can install this tank above ground, say next to the valves, without breaking concrete and removing the old tank.  Essentially you will be by-passing the old tank in the ground.  We can show you how to do this with a simple diagram and all you will need to do is either hire a plumber, or pipe fitter, or do it yourself.   The cost savings of not to break concrete is huge!  SAVE YOUR IN-GROUND LIFT!

This 43 gallon reservoir has 3 ports.  See the pictures below.  The fill-port located in the center on top of the shell has an 1-1/2″ NPT fitting.   This is where the tank is filled with hydraulic lift oil.  Next to this port is a 1/2″ NPT inlet for the air-line from the air compressor.  This inlet should match the 1/2″ line from the air control valve.  The 3rd port, not pictured, is located on the bottom of the tank with a steel skirt around it.  This port is 1-1/4″ NPT and should match the 1-1/4″ hydraulic line from the oil control valve.  This 3rd port is the pressure-out line where the oil leaves the tank to the cylinder as it raises AND also serves as the return line back to  the tank when the lift is lowered under gravity.

Please note that this reservoir is referred to as a BOTTOM Piped Tank where the oil leaves and returns through the 1-1/4″ NPT port on the bottom of the tank.

The reservoir includes a dipstick and float, as pictured.  There is a perforated tube inside the tank where the float rides up and down with the oil level.  This float serves as a low oil lock and will plug the bottom outlet in the raise-mode if the lift should run low on oil.   This safety control will prevent the lift from going up on air-only which will cause the cylinder to shoot up rapidly causing an unsafe condition.

The reservoir is approximately 58″ overall height and is exactly 16″ in diameter and weighs about 125 pounds.

This resevoir is bare steel.  Fiberglassed coated tanks are available.

This reservoir is a National Board Certified A.S.M.E Pressure Vessel.

If you are not sure this is the proper reservoir for your lift please call before ordering.  Also if you have a lift brand not listed here please call – we can size the proper reservoir.
